Gas generator sets

Our gas engines and generator sets range from 130 kWe to 4,300 kWe output and are adapted to any type of gas. Due to their wide range of features, they can generate power, heat water, cool vapours and heat air.

Our equipment solutions include:

Options and attachments :

The range offers a number of options and accessories to customise your Cat® generator set according to your specific needs:

Cat® gas generator set features :

  • Powered by Cat® engines..
  • Wide range of factory-designed options.
  • Easy to specify, permit install and test.
  • World-class fuel efficiency and low life-cycle costs.
  • Excellent transient response and steady state performance.
  • Emissions compliance with most worldwide regulations.
  • Single source and turnkey support from the Eneria network.

Combined heat and power (CHP)

Whether your operations require steam, hot or cold water or even hot air, we offer CHP modules that recover the heat from the engine’s aftercooler water circuits, and/or from the exhaust gas. Caterpillar offers a standard or customised CHP design to match customers’ needs with the cooling configuration, system pressures and temperatures associated with each Cat® gas engine.

Controls and switchgear

Whether operating on natural gas, biogas or manufactured gas, we offer Caterpillar switchgear controls that meet your needs. All controls are microprocessor-based with redundant backup master controls via the individual generator control processors. Full monitoring and control are offered locally via a 5.7 to 17 inch colour touch screen interface.

Fuel systems

Whether your natural gas project requires simple fuel pressure regulation and safety, or if your biogas generator set requires filtration of hydrogen sulfide and siloxane contaminants, a complete line of fuel train equipment is available to meet the specific needs of your project.

Exhaust aftertreatment

We offer a suite of aftertreatment solutions to comply with any global or national regulations, from applying a lean burn engine oxidation catalyst to simply lower CO emissions, or applying a urea-based SCR system to all but eliminate NOx for greenhouse fertilisation.

Containers and enclosures

For both natural gas and biogas applications, we offer containerised power plants that include complete generator sets, paralleling controls, cooling systems, oil systems and ventilation for various ambient environments. Custom containers are offered for Arctic grade -40°C (-40°F) and high ambient project locations up to 50°C (122°F).
